Colorado 14ers Season Seat Selection Underway

23 July 2006

Broomfield, Colo. - Season ticket holders of the Colorado 14ers (NBA Development League) inaugural season are invited to the first select-a-seat event July 21 under the tent at the Broomfield Event Center Construction Site. Season ticket holders can select their seats from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday.

"The Colorado 14ers are in the top 25 percent of the league in season ticket sales," said Gary Hunter, President. "We are very happy with the enthusiasm from fans and the amount of interest and in our new NBA D-League franchise. We want to keep that enthusiasm going. This weekend we will be providing basketball fans with their first opportunity to select seats and to see the new home of the 14ers up close."

The 14ers will tip off the 2006-07 season this November spanning through mid-April at the new, state-of-the-art Broomfield Event Center (Highway 36 and Wadsworth Blvd.). Colorado will play among 12 teams this season in the NBA Development League. The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Each of the 30 NBA teams will be directly affiliated with only one designated D-League team and may assign its qualifying players to that affiliated D-League team only. The Colorado 14ers has been designated as the farm-team of the Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets.

For the first time, the NBA age limit is 19 (and one year removed from high school) for next season. Player eligibility has been also reduced to 18 years of age for the NBA D-League season giving 14ers fans the opportunity to see fresh talent and the future of the NBA first.
