Lynx Hire Angela Taylor as Vice President of Business Development

24 July 2006

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the hiring of Angela Taylor to the newly created position of vice president of business development.

In her new position, Taylor will oversee the Lynx ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, marketing, advertising, public relations and other business segments. Additionally, she will serve as a community ambassador, help drive marketing and communications needs for the organization, and sit on the Wolves and Lynx executive committee.

"I am really excited about joining the Lynx and Timberwolves organization," said Taylor, a Mountain Home, Idaho, native. "We have tremendous support from the top of the organization, we have a very talented group of players, and Minneapolis-St. Paul is a fantastic market with residents who have demonstrated that they will support women's basketball."

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Angela Taylor to the Lynx team," said Roger Griffith the Lynx' Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. "We expect Angela to have a big impact on the business side, but also to accomplish our goal of putting people in the seats and giving fans an enjoyable product to watch."

Prior to being hired in her current position, Taylor worked in the WNBA League Offices for nine years, most recently as senior director of player personnel. In that position, Taylor focused on the identification & acquisition of players, oversaw the player programs area (which focused on enhancing players' off-court lives with internships, tuition assistance, etc.), managed the day-to-day aspects of the business, and worked closely with the heads of other departments in areas of league-wide business.

Before joining the WNBA League Office, Taylor served as an assistant women's basketball coach at Stanford, Texas A&M and Arizona. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford as well as a master's in business administration from New York University.
