After practicing with the team that morning, Kirilenko took 60 seconds to record a personal message on a Palm Treo 650 and the message was instantly sent to more than 38,000 registered fans and season ticket holders.
Nickelback in Concert
The Delta Center hosts a number of special events and concerts each year, and LHM Entertainment used Me Inc. Shout technology to help promote Nickelback's upcoming concert on August 11. The Shout incorporated Nickelback sound clips combined with web content around the concert date, venue, and pre-sale ticket information. Because Me Inc. technology uses hosted edge processor services to disseminate Shout messages, recipients of Nickelback's Shout message were able to quickly and easily access the concert information and music clips without getting bogged down by opening large file attachments or audio clips.
The Salt Lake Bees
The Salt Lake Bees minor league baseball team is affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels, and as players are needed for the Angels, or an Angel's player needs some time to rehabilitate prior to re-joining the major league, they often spend some time playing for the Salt Lake Bees minor league baseball team. The 2005 Cy Young award winner, Bartolo Colon, spent some time in Salt Lake City with the Bees prior to re-joining the Angels, and the Bees organization quickly jumped on the opportunity to send out a Shout to registered Bees season ticket holders and fans to let them know of his pitching start against the Fresno Grizzlies. Because time was of the essence and they wanted to spread the word quickly, sending a Shout message complete with a photo of Bartolo Colon made it easy to alert spectators and get more fans in the seats.
