WNBA at Niketown28 July 2006
Chicago Sky athletes Candice Dupree and Stacey Dales, along with Diana Taurasiand Cappie Pondexter of the Phoenix Mercury will meet with fans in a HoopsTalk/Question & Answer session at NIKETOWN Chicago at 7:30pm on Monday July31st. This event will give the general public and three area high school girlsbasketball teams the opportunity to interact with some of the top players in theWNBA. Marshall, Bolingbrook and Whitney Young High Schools will attend . Thoseattending can also enter to win an autographed pair of Taurasi's new signature shoefrom Nike, tickets to the August 1st Mercury/Sky game, or other Nike products.
Pondexter, a Chicago native and Marshall High School alum, was the secondoverall draft pick in the WNBA this year and is currently ranked 4th in the WNBA inscoring with 20.3 points per game. Taurasi was the 2004 Rookie of the Year and isNo. 1 in the WNBA in points per game (23.3).
Dupree, the Sky's No. 1 draft pick, leads the Sky and is third among rookies with13.3 points per game. Dales recently returned from injury and has been on a hotstreak, scoring a season-high 15 points on July 15 and 11 points on July 25 againstthe New York Liberty.
